Big One's are Biting
This week’s fishing report from Weiss Lake is a good one. Although we have still had some rain the weather has been clearer and warmer. With water surface temperatures heading into the lower 60’s the crappie are beginning to stack up in the mouths of major creeks. But, you may still have to cover a lot of water in order to get that limit with crappie still holding in about 18 to 20 feet of water. The early mornings have really been successful times this week with a late morning and early afternoon lull in the action. Keep with it and as it gets later in the day the bite will turn back on. Early morning successful bait colors have been the Bobby Garland Slab Slay’R in black and chartreuse with a 1/16th ounce Bobby Garland Mo-Gl0 head in either orange or pink. Late afternoon skirt colors I’ve had success on this week have been blue grass and blue ice.
Long line trolling has resulted in some good limits for my customers this week with some 14 to 15 inch big slabs heading to the peanut oil.
We have really had an awesome week with some great clients and a lot of fishing stories around the marina when we come off the water. Come on down to Little River Marina in Cedar Bluff, Alabama and book a trip with me to catch one of the most exciting sport fish around.
