Weiss Lake Alabama Fishing Report For week of April 27, 2015 Weiss Lake is at 563 ft. 10 inches today which is 2 inches below full pool of 364 ft. With all the rain the water is stained and water temperature ranges between 66 to 69 degrees depending on how much rain has fallen. Weiss Lake Alabama Fishing Report For week of April 20, 2015 Weiss Lake is at 563 ft. 7 inches today which is 3 inches below full pool of 364 ft. Crappie Fishing Report for Week of April 13, 2015.
Another week of high winds and rain have made finding the Crappie challenging. We are finding them but they are scattered in about 7 to 10 feet of water, and some even deeper. We are still long line trolling in as I stated in about 7 to 10 feet of water looking for those humps and ditches around creeks that lead to spawning areas. One area that we have had some success in finding some keepers have been in protected pockets under docks (I suggest older docks). Some nice slabs

Most of you probably already know this but I think it’s worth a look to determine if dock owners have a legal right to tell anglers they can’t fish around or under their dock. April 6, 2015 This week the weather here on Weiss Lake in Alabama has been constantly changing and challenging. With high winds, rain, and changing temperatures the Crappie aren’t sure what to do. They are wanting to spawn but with all the weather changes they are pulled out to the first deeper water they can find near spawning areas. Not to say they can’t be caught, they still need to feed to get ready to spawn and we have had some good success using some of the same tactics
